This morning we drove to Undaipur (315kms/6hours) famous for its palaces and lakes. It's considered as one of India's romantic cities also one of India's premier wedding destinations. The roads started out with a good highway but eventually turned into one of the worst roads we have travelled on. Long day.
This is what they call a 'by pass' when doing road works. You can see the main road going over a bridge in the background.
After three hours driving we stopped at the magnificent Temple called the Ranakpur Jain Temple. Have to take shoes off and we had to change into long pants.

This area we were not allowed. I started walking in and got shouted at as it is just for the locals to pray, but they don't tell you these things. But as you can see from the top photo of the temple it is quite spectacular.

A little bit on we stopped for our lunch up in the hills.
We had been slowly climbing up towards the hills before the temple and this shot is our decsent after lunch. Our first time going over the mountains. Made a nice change from all the flat land we had been covering. A little cooler in temperature as well but not a great change. We were at 820m at one point.
We eventually arrived at Udaipur at our next hotel called The Lalit. Pretty impressive. We left at 9.30am this morning and arrived here at about 4.30pm.

Went down to this area in front of the hotel to have a drink before dinner and watched the sun go down.
Later on it is now dark beautiful atmosphere and great outlook from the front of the hotel.
PT having a couple of beers before we went to dinner.
We are looking forward to exploring this city tomorrow.
